Mental health ADVOCACY partners & MHFA Trainings

What to expect:


  • All trainings will be lead by a nationally certified Mental Health First Aid instructor, a licensed mental ​health professional, or a subject matter expert.
  • A short insightful presentation by a local mental health provider or organization.
  • In-person and virtual options.


Types of Trainings:


  • MAP Training (1 hour and 30 minutes)
    • Beneficial for any adult 18 & over, parents, college students, caregivers, faith based community ​members, employees, and volunteers.
    • At least 10 or more committed attendees.


  • MHFA Training - full day training
    • Best for those in healthcare, social work, academia, business management, human resources, ​and first responders.
    • At least 10 commited attendees not to exceed 30.

Adult Mental Health First Aid

Family members, friends and peers will learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health or substance use challenges. This training will equip participants to respond appropriately, give support, and when to offer resources.

Youth Mental Health First Aid

Parents of teens, professionals and community volunteers who serve adolescents, (ages 12-18) will ​learn the unique risk factors, and identify the warning signs of a mental health crisis in a young person, ​how to navigate a mental health conversation, and take appropriate actions.

MHFA Trainings for Community specific audiences

Fire/EMS Mental Health

Firefighters and EMS personnel will learn the risk and protective factors specific to the Fire/EMS ​community. This training equips Fire/EMS professionals to apply the Mental Health First Aid Action Plan ​(ALGEE) in relevant scenarios.

Officer Mental Health

Public safety personnel learn early mental health and substance abuse intervention skills to assist and support their peers or individuals they encounter in the field. This training promotes open dialogue, reduces stigma ,and encourages public safety professionals to seek support when needed.
